Allegri insists Juventus future is bright

Monday May 30 2016

The Bianconeri tactician is hopeful key figures like Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba remain as the transfer market threatens to change the squad’s line-up once again.

The possibility of departures for some key Juventus squad members has yet to remove Massimiliano Allegri’s smile, as the successful Serie A coach is earnest to accomplish more next season.

With an eye on returning to the Champions League final, the Italian is particularly hoping to retain the services of players like Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba, who were instrumental towards retaining both the Scudetto and Coppa Italia trophies.

“It’s been a crazy year, extraordinary,” the coach told Che tempo che fa. “The guys were wonderful and the club was as well. We had changed a lot and lost important players in the field and in the locker room.

“I want all of them to remain here. There is the Champions League dream that everyone wants to achieve. Last year we played in the final, and if you look at the past few years it’s been the only one.”

Allegri then focused on specific figures in his squad that still have some questions surrounding their futures, and remains confident that they will continue to fight for the club’s cause.

“[Gianluigi] Buffon will, as will Pogba,” he added with a nervous laugh.

“We hope that he [Pogba] will remain. Morata? If I were him I would stay, but he is getting ready for Euro 2016 so we hope he comes back.”
