Juventus hoping to celebrate title on May 8

Monday April 11 2016

The Scudetto could be awarded as soon as May 1, depending on both the Bianconeri and Partenopei’s performances over the coming weeks.

It’s just about time to take out a calculator and figure out what date this year’s Scudetto might be awarded.

With six games remaining in the season, Juventus are currently in first with a six-point lead over Napoli.

If both the Bianconeri and the Partenopei win all of their final matches, the Scudetto will be awarded to the Old Lady on May 8, the penultimate weekend of action.

However with both teams having split their head-to-head matches this season, goal difference could still have a say in matters though that an unquantifiable variable at this time.

That said, if Juventus win the rest of their games and Napoli draw or lose even once, the Scudetto will be presented on May 1, with two matchdays left on the calendar.

Last season, the Turin outfit were awarded the league title with four weeks remaining in the campaign.

The earliest the Scudetto has been handed out is with five matches left to play, a milestone that was accomplished by Torino in 1947/48, Fiorentina in 1955/56, and Inter in 2006/07.
