Prandelli: Yet to decide future

Wednesday January 29 2014

Cesare Prandelli has reiterated his desire to return to club management, and says the situation ‘will become clearer’ before the World Cup.

Prandelli’s contract with the Azzurri expires after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and he is widely believed to be targeting a return to the club game, after four years with La Nazionale.

Asked today once more on the situation, the former Fiorentina boss reiterated his position.

“It is no secret that I would like to return to coaching a club, but I have a great respect for the national team and we will talk,” the 56-year-old has mused to reporters today.

“Prior to the start of the World Cup it will become clearer.

“Max Allegri to replace me? He is a great Coach, but we have yet to decide what to do. Certainly we will do so before the World Cup.”

Prandelli was also asked of hopes heading out to Brazil of being able to include Giuseppe Rossi, who is currently recovering from a knee injury.

“I hope to recover him, because he is a unique player for his role.

“Pazzini? We will make reflections of a physical nature, but Giampaolo is one of those players are we are following.”

Prandelli also spoke about the need to support Mario Balotelli, after his latest controversy.
