Southampton's Dani Osvaldo having medical at Juventus
Friday January 31 2014
Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo is having a medical at Juventus as his expected loan move takes a step closer.
Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino said on Thursday that the Italy international would not play for the club again following his training ground bust-up with team-mate Jose Fonte.
Osvaldo, Saints' club-record signing, arrived from Roma last summer but has failed to make an impression.
The approach from Juventus suits all parties and a deal was expected to go through on the final day of the transfer window, while a permanent move could be agreed in the summer.
Juventus announced on their website: "Italian international striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is visiting Turin's Clinica Fornaca di Sessant, Isokinetic and Istituto di Medicina dello Sport centres today for medical examinations."
Osvaldo was also a reported target of Valencia, West Ham and Internazionale and has plenty of experience in Italy's top flight having played for Atalanta, Bologna, Lecce, Fiorentina and Roma in his career.
