Juventus target PSG midfielder

Wednesday July 27 2016

Despite the capture of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain on Tuesday, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri’s transfer business looks set to continue as the club are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

While the €90 million deal for last season’s Serie A top goalscorer has strengthened the Old Lady’s attack, a move for the 29-year-old French international player has been identified in the event of fellow countryman Paul Pogba departing the Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Matuidi has two years remaining on his current contract with the Parisians but has been told he can leave PSG this summer and according to leading French newspaper l’Equipe, a move to Italy’s current champions would interest both parties.

The former Saint-Etienne lynchpin has made 237 appearances since arriving in Paris in 2011, winning four league titles with the club.

Meanwhile, the Bianconeri’s midfielder Mario Lemina could be set for a €10m move to Hamburg despite his move from Ligue 1 club Marseille only being made permanent in April.

Die Rothosen are looking to build a squad capable of improving on last season’s disappointing 10th place finish in the Bundesliga.
