Juventus line up Newcastle United midfielder as Pogba replacement

Thursday July 21 2016

With Paul Pogba edging closer to a move away from Juventus this summer, the club already have an idea as to who will replace him.

Manchester United are in pole position to wrap up a deal for their former player sooner rather than later, forcing the Bianconeri to come up with possible names to fill the gap in the midfield ahead of the new season.

According to ESPN, the Bianconeri are prepared to launch a bid for Newcastle United man Moussa Sissoko.

Despite being unable to preserve Newcastle’s status in the Premier League last season, the Frenchman did excel in the European Championship and earned himself many new fans from some of Europe’s top clubs.

Liverpool are also very keen on the player, who has no intention on playing in England’s second tier next season.

However, either side would have to cough up €35 million in order to secure the playmaker’s services.

Sissoko, who has won 44 caps for his nation, has completed three and-a-half seasons at the Magpies without winning a trophy.

Arsenal are another side who have been linked with him so far in the transfer window, although they have already clinched the signing of Granit Xhaka to bolster the centre of their midfield.
