Juventus wrap up transfer of Marseille loanee

Saturday April 30 2016

After impressing in Turin this season, the Old Lady have opened their chequebook to keep Mario Lemina and tie him down to a four-year deal.

Up and coming midfielder Mario Lemina can now celebrate being a full-fledged Juventus player, after the club made his loan from Marseille permanent.

The Bianconeri have handed the player a total of 11 appearances in all competitions this season, although he could easily have made a lot more had his campaign not been blighted by injuries.

In his time at the Juventus Stadium, the twice-capped Gabon international has impressed enough for the Bianconeri to shell out at least an extra €9.5 million for his services.

An extra €1m could be paid to the South of France club should their former player meet performance related targets in Turin. A smaller fee of €500,000 was given to Marseille last summer, by way of payment for the player’s season-long loan deal.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side will pay for Lemina over four instalments, with the last coming at the end of next season.

The 22-year-old netted his first ever goal for the Old Lady on just his third appearance, in a 2-1 away loss to Napoli. He also managed to grab a goal on his international debut, netting during a 3-3 draw with Tunisia.
