Adidas lighting up the Melbourne CBD

Friday July 22 2016

In lead up to the International Champions Cup and this Saturdays clash between Melbourne Victory and Juventus at the MCG, adidas Australia held the 'Speed of Light' event last night along Melbourne's Yarra in the CBD.

Co-inciding with the 'Speed Of Light' pack of boots released recently, a stage lit up by projected obstacles and skill challenges housed young talent who had to complete the series of challenges to earn their winners trophy.

All wearing either the new X16.2 Court or the ACE16.3 PrimeMesh court boots, contestants had to sprint, juggle, dribble, weave and dodge: all in the name of speed.

In front of the entertained full Juventus squad and members of Melbourne Victory playing squad, the young talent had to beat the clock and progress into the next rounds, which all lead to the eventual crowned champion.

The excited crowd were able to catch a glimpse of the Juve squad before their first friendly match-up at the MCG, being entertained by new recruit Miralem Pjanic who couldn't resit showing of some of his individual prowess on the Speed Of Light stage.

With Melbourne DJ 'SCNDL' spinning tunes in the background, the entire event was filled with a true street football vibe, all centered around the skills performed by contestants and players.

Lit up by the three colours of the boot pack consisting of the X, ACE, and MESSI models, the Shock Blue - Solar Yellow - Solar Red lights lit up the night of the usual darker area of Melbourne's CBD.

Juventus will play the opener of the International Champions Cup series in Melbourne against hometown favourites Melbourne Victory on Saturday night (July 23) at the MCG.
