Vidal: Juventus and Turin are still in my heart

Sunday June 12 2016

Arturo Vidal left the Bianconeri last summer for German champions Bayern Munich, but has refused to shut the door on a potential return to the Juventus Stadium.

Despite leaving the club for Bayern Munich just last summer, Arturo Vidal admits that Juventus and the city of Turin are still in his heart.

Vidal was instrumental as Chile defeated Bolivia in the Copa America Centenario on Friday evening, scoring a brace to secure a 2-1 win.

However, at the final whistle the midfielder was equally keen to discuss his club football as his national team, and the Bianconeri in particular.

“I miss Italy,” Vidal told Sky Sport Italia. “I don’t know if and when I’ll come back, but Turin is in my heart.”

The 29-year-old turned his attention to Chile’s bid to retain the Copa America and exuded confidence about their chances.

“We have confidence and I think that we can repeat our victory from last summer. I cannot say that I am the best midfielder here, I have to prove it.

I am happy and I hope to be the strongest midfielder in the tournament.”

Vidal joined Bayern Munich for an initial €36 million and made 48 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals in the process.

The former Bayer Leverkusen star won four league titles with Juventus during his four seasons at the club, as well as helping the Bianconeri to the 2015 Champions League final.
