Juventus Sporting Director Believes Morata Wants To Stay

Monday April 11 2016

Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta is confident that the 23-year-old Spain international striker Alvaro Morata wants to stay in Turin.

The Juve leadership have to speak with Real Madrid over the player’s future as the Spanish giants still retain a buyback clause.

“Our objective is to bring him home securely but a lot will depend on Real Madrid,” said Marotta to Premium Sport.

“They have an important game in the Champions League and their situation in that competition could mean a lot for their future plans. I think it’s a bit premature to talk about it.

“I think the player’s will could mean a lot in the discussions between Real Madrid and Juventus. He has already shown on more than one occasion that he wants to carry on with us.”

The director also insisted that sorting out Massimilano Allegri’s future on the bench will be nothing more than formality.

“I have always said that it is a formality, a lot of it will depend on scheduling as we have started our second cycle,” Marotta added.

“It’s certain that we will carry on with Allegri.”
